Newly appointed Safeguarding Consultant to the UISG
Tina Campbell is the newly appointed Safeguarding Consultant to the UISG.
Tina Campbell is an Independent Safeguarding Consultant working with and for Religious Congregations in the Catholic Church. Her previous post was with the Promotion of a Consistent Culture of Protection an international safeguarding initiative of the Society of Jesus. Tina has a long history of involvement with the Society of Jesus.
Tina has worked in safeguarding for the Catholic Church for more than 22 years.
“I am delighted to be given this opportunity to be a Safeguarding Consultant for the UISG here in Rome. Working with and for Religious Congregations has always been a much valued dimension of my safeguarding role. The commitment and enthusiasm of so many Religious Congregations seeking to ensure that safeguarding is both a priority and ministry, brings with it a tangible energy. This new project with UISG will be yet another important stage in the safeguarding journey, providing support, resources and accompaniment for Religious Congregations actively seeking to create a safer Church” - she says on her appointment.
Tina is a graduate in Theology at Heythrop College University of London with a background in education (mainly in independent Catholic Schools) and psychotherapy (working with adult survivors of sexual abuse, sexual assault and rape). She has a MSc and numerous post graduate qualifications in psychotherapy including EMDR for trauma. She is a visiting teacher at the IADC at the Pontifical Gregorian University on both the Safeguarding Diploma and Licentiate courses.
Her work includes speaking at international conferences, supporting organisations and religious congregations in reviewing safeguarding policies, designing bespoke training and reviewing safeguarding implementation.
