Voices from the 2025 Plenary: "We are living in a time of epochal change, an opportunity for renewal"
At the conclusion of the 2025 UISG Plenary Assembly, we gather in this section the testimonies and reflections of several Superiors General on the key themes that animated our days of listening, discernment, and communion.
Through these weekly interviews, we wish to open a space of listening and communion, where the experience of those who, from diverse contexts, walk the synodal path in service of the Gospel and consecrated life in today’s world can truly resonate.
This week we share the words of Sr. Neusa DE FATIMA MARIANO, Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo (Scalabrinians), on how consecrated life, attentive to the signs of the times, is called today to offer prophetic and creative responses in a world undergoing profound transformation.
"Consecrated life has always been attentive to the signs of the times and, throughout its journey, has continually responded to the current challenges of today's world. And without a doubt, the moment we are living — marked by so many changes, this change of era — is for us an opportunity for renewal and, at the same time, a search for new, creative, and well-articulated responses within the contexts we are experiencing, both in the ecclesial and social spheres. Religious life is this prophetic response in the contexts of today's world".
