Voices from the Plenary 2025: A Future of Hope and Communion
Voices from the Plenary 2025: Listening that Generates Life
At the conclusion of the 2025 UISG Plenary Assembly, we gather in this section the testimonies and reflections of several Superiors General on the key themes that animated our days of listening, discernment, and communion.
Through these weekly interviews, we wish to open a space of listening and communion, where the experience of those who, from diverse contexts, walk the synodal path in service of the Gospel and consecrated life in today’s world can truly resonate.
This week we share the words of Sr. Maria Eliane Azevedo da Silva, Superior General of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on a future of hope, joy, and communion that embraces everyone to build a better world.
"For me, the future of consecrated life is a future of hope. It is a joyful, contagious, and charismatic consecrated life.
A consecrated life of communion that begins with the centrality of Jesus, yet remains in communion with the whole universe.
It is not a life trapped in its own individualism, but a consecrated life that goes beyond its own institute, embraces other congregations and institutions, and helps build a better world. It is a life of hope and communion."
