Unity, Purpose, and Renewal: Sr Geraldin, Missionary Sister, at the Jubilee of Youth 2025
In an interview with the UISG, Sr. Geraldine Sasirekah Eusabius, a Claretian Missionary Sister from Sri Lanka serving in India, shared her experience of the Youth Jubilee 2025 in Rome.
She participated as part of the Claret Way Youth Network, which brought around 500 young people from various mission countries.
“Seeing the energy and joy of so many young people fills me with hope — not only for myself, but for the whole Church,” she said.
For Sr. Geraldin, the Jubilee is a space of deep spiritual search, where youth from diverse cultures come together with a desire for meaning, faith, and belonging.
“They’re not just tourists — they’re seeking purpose. Even with language barriers, they communicate with beauty and build unity.”
The experience has also been a source of renewal for her as a consecrated woman:
“Our vocations are refreshed. We realize how much we are called to accompany young people — not only as future leaders, but as the present of the Church.”
She describes the Jubilee as a grace-filled moment — a mirror reflecting her call, and a window into the Church’s hope for tomorrow.
