Jubilee of Consecrated Life: From All Over the World, Pilgrims of Hope on the Path of Peace

Jubilee of Consecrated Life: From All Over the World, Pilgrims of Hope on the Path of Peace

In the context of the Jubilee “Pilgrims of Hope,” consecrated women and men from all continents are making their way to Rome to participate in the Jubilee of Consecrated Life, scheduled for 8–12 October 2025. A true mosaic of languages, cultures, charisms, and forms of consecrated life: religious sisters and brothers, members of societies of apostolic life, secular institutes, Ordo Virginum, contemplative men and women, hermits, and new forms. A richness that testifies to the dance of the Spirit in the plurality of vocations of the charismatic Church.

The Jubilee, spanning several days, is the fruit of collaboration between the Dicastery for Evangelization (which has organized the first two days, with over 15,000 registered participants) and the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, which arranged the central program, with about 4,000 accredited participants.

The jubilee journey opens on Wednesday, 8 October with a pilgrimage through the Holy Door, experienced individually, and culminates in the evening with a grand Vigil of prayer in St. Peter’s Basilica, presided over by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime. The text of the Vigil will be made available in various languages, allowing even those who cannot be present in Rome to unite spiritually in prayer.

One of the most anticipated moments is the Holy Mass presided over by the Holy Father, on Thursday, 9 October in St. Peter’s Square, open to all. On the same day, the different forms of consecrated life will come together in specific groups for a time of welcome and the beginning of reflection, and in the evening a moving dialogue with the city will take place in three Roman squares on themes such as care for creation, solidarity, and listening to the cry of the poor.

Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to the two great spiritual themes of the Jubilee: hope and peace. There will be moments of listening, prayer, joint celebrations, and interactive workshops on conflict management, with international experts. On Friday evening, consecrated men and women will lead a Prayer for Peace in the heart of the city, in five churches in Rome, each in a different language.

The Jubilee will conclude on Saturday, 11 October, with a pilgrimage to the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, where the final prayer and passage through the Holy Door will be held. On Sunday, 12 October, the Jubilee of Marian spirituality will close with the Pope’s Mass in St. Peter’s Square.
