An Important Step in the Synodal Journey
An Important Step in the Synodal Journey
After nearly two years of work, listening, and discernment, the General Secretariat of the Synod has published the first two Final Reports of the Study Groups established within the synodal process.
These documents represent a concrete fruit of the process undertaken by the Church to deepen reflection on some key questions for her mission today.
The reports concern in particular:
- Study Group No. 3: The mission in the digital environment
- Study Group No. 4: The revision of the Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis in a missionary and synodal perspective
At the request of Pope Leo XIV, these reports have been made public in order to share with the entire People of God the fruits of the reflection and discernment carried out. This decision gives concrete expression to one of the essential characteristics of a synodal Church: transparency and accountability.
As Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod, notes, the work of these groups also reflects a renewed style of collaboration and shared discernment within the Roman Curia: a concrete experience of synodality in practice.
