New co-executive secretary of the justice, peace and integrity of creation commission
After three years of service as Executive Co-Secretary of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Commission, Fr. Roy Thomas, SVD, has concluded his mandate. The position is now assumed by Fr. Vincent Susaimanickam, CMF.
Fr. Vincent is a Claretian Missionary from Karankadu, India. He has been involved in various apostolic ministries and was a member of the JPIC Roma working groups of Integrity of Creation, Refugees and Migrants, Anti-Trafficking, and Collaboration between Men and Women. Most recently, he was engaged in Tribal Development in West Bengal, India, before returning to Rome to take up the position of Executive Co-Secretary of the JPIC Commission of the USG-UISG.
Fr. Roy Thomas served tirelessly as Executive Co-Secretary, contributing significantly to the capacity-building of JPIC Promoters and fostering collaboration and networking with like-minded organizations for coordinated action towards a more just and harmonious world. Through his dedication and hard work, he helped create greater synergy among JPIC Promoters of the USG-UISG and partner organizations. His digital skills were instrumental in accomplishing many of the Secretariat’s tasks and activities, some of which would not have been possible without his expertise and commitment.
We are deeply grateful to Fr. Roy Thomas for all he has contributed to the growth, development, and advancement of the JPIC Commission’s efforts to promote the common good of all creation. As he moves on to a new assignment, we wish him every blessing and success, while remaining united in the same service of the Church.
God bless.

«We are currently living in contexts marked by systemic global challenges, driven by a capitalist economic paradigm that profoundly affects the lives of people and the natural world.
The Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Commission, founded in 1982 and inspired by the Church’s Pastoral Constitution Gaudium et Spes, serves as a bridge connecting religious congregations from the local to the global level, bringing the voices of grassroots communities to international decision-making forums so that they may be heard and included.
Our mission is to transform the world in the spirit of the Gospel through conscious prayer and prophetic, concrete action, promoting ways of life rooted in justice, peace, and care for the integrity of creation.
We want to walk together to bring the voices of grassroots communities and those on the margins to places where decisions are made. We want to journey together, united in the Church’s mission for the common good.
We want to walk together with those living on the peripheries, amplifying their voices at the international level.
Come, all of you! Let us set our faces like flint, with courage, enthusiasm, and joy in the Lord who calls us and sends us forth in God’s mission»
