In preparation for the upcoming World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, several international Catholic networks – including the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Commission of UISG and USG – are promoting a special webinar dedicated to one of the most significant recent developments in the liturgical and pastoral life of the Church: the new Mass for the Care of Creation, recently added to the Roman Missal by Pope Leo XIV.

The online event, scheduled for 9 June, will offer a valuable opportunity to deepen understanding of this new liturgical celebration and to help communities, religious congregations, parishes and Church groups prepare for the celebrations in September.

The webinar will explore the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, established by Pope Francis in 2015 and celebrated annually on 1 September, as well as the new Mass for the Care of Creation, recently included in the Roman Missal by Pope Leo XIV. With liturgical texts and biblical readings dedicated to creation, this new celebration offers an important opportunity for religious communities, parishes and the faithful to deepen their commitment to caring for our common home, bringing together prayer, formation and concrete action in response to the ecological crisis.
