Bridging Cultures: Understanding, Representing, and Communicating Across Cultures

Bridging Cultures: Understanding, Representing, and Communicating Across Cultures

The Scalabrinian International Migration Institute (SIMI) and the UISG International Network for Migrants and Refugees continue their joint training journey aimed at women religious who accompany migrants, refugees and/or asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, victims of human trafficking, itinerant people, and their families.

During this webinar, we will explore and better understand the key principles of intercultural communication. Participants will reflect on how culture shapes perception, behavior, and communication styles, while gaining tools to recognize and overcome bias, stereotypes, and misunderstandings.

We will also examine how to create inclusive and culturally aware content, distinguishing between authentic representation and cultural appropriation. Through practical examples, we will learn how to adapt storytelling and communication strategies to diverse audiences, building bridges across cultures and embracing diversity.
