In this webinar, Br. Brendan Geary, fms, member of the Care and Protection Commission of the Union of Superiors General in Rome (UISG / USG), will offer an in-depth reflection on how to accompany and respond responsibly to members of religious orders who have committed abuse. His contribution will be based on the “Good Lives” model for offender treatment, on his personal experience, and on recent research conducted with members of religious orders who have abused children.
Nancy Camilléri, Safeguarding Officer for the Marist Brothers in Germany and member of the Marist Brothers’ Commission for Child Protection (2019–2025), will share her experience of accompanying a brother who admitted guilt for the abuse of children.
The webinar will also provide participants with a space for reflection and sharing on these important and sensitive issues.
