The Magisterium of Fragility in a Time of Strength
The Magisterium of Fragility in a Time of Strength
In a society that exalts efficiency, autonomy, and strength, the Church offers a different perspective on fragility, recognizing it as a place of encounter, faith, and hope.
Within this context, the study day “A Bridge Toward Heaven. The Magisterium of Fragility in a Time of Strength”, promoted by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, seeks to reflect on the condition of older persons within ecclesial life and society.
The initiative aims to provide pastoral and cultural tools to move beyond an exclusively assistance-based view of old age, valuing older persons as a living presence within Christian communities and as custodians of precious spiritual wisdom. Through theological, pastoral, and academic contributions, the study day will explore the meaning of vulnerability as an experience open to communion, reciprocity, and the tenderness of God.
