Online Diploma in the Pastoral Care of Human Mobility
The Online Diploma in the Pastoral Care of Human Mobility, promoted by the Scalabrini International Migration Institute (SIMI), is a recognized educational program sponsored by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, in collaboration with international partners including Fondazione Migrantes, the Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Office, the Fundación Comisión Católica Argentina de Migraciones, the Migrants Commission (CCBI), and SECAM.
The program aims to provide solid pastoral training to those who work or wish to work in the field of human mobility, addressing current issues related to migration, asylum, human trafficking, and pastoral accompaniment in intercultural contexts.
Course Structure
The diploma consists of a single cycle of six courses, divided into three core courses and three electives, all available in Italian, Spanish, and English.
- Classes held every two weeks
- "Reading course" format: study of materials, summaries, and written responses
- Final exam required for each course
- The diploma is awarded only upon completion of the full cycle and successful passing of all exams
- Duration: October to June
- Mode: Fully online
- Languages: Italian, Spanish, English
- Target audience: Religious sisters and brothers, priests and seminarians, laywomen and laymen. In general, the program is intended for those who work or wish to work with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, seafarers, itinerants, and their families.

- Standard registration: includes final exams and awarding of the diploma
- Guest registration: no required assignments or exams; participants receive a certificate of attendance. It is also possible to enroll in just one or two courses.
