New Leadership Council Elected for the International Franciscan Conference of the Third Order Regular (IFC-TOR)
From May 11–15, 2025, 68 General Ministers and/or their delegates gathered at Domus Pacis (Assisi) for the 11th General Assembly of the International Franciscan Conference of the Institutes and Monasteries of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis (IFC-TOR). The gathering was presided over by Sr. Frances Marie Duncan, outgoing President of IFC-TOR.
The Assembly was held in celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Canticle of Creation, under the theme: “Franciscans, Repair My World.”
Participants engaged in reflection and dialogue inspired by the theme, guided by Fr. David Couturier, OFM Cap., and Jeffry Papia from the Padua Program at St. Bonaventure University (New York).
At the conclusion of the Assembly, a new leadership council was elected to guide the IFC-TOR for the next three years:
President
- Sr. Daisy Kalamparamban – India, residing in Rome: General Minister, Franciscan Handmaids of the Good Shepherd
Vice President
- Sr. Lorella Chiaruzzi – Italy, Rimini: General Minister, Franciscan Missionaries of Christ
Councilor
- Sr. Pacyfika Leman – Poland, residing in Rome: General Minister, Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity
Councilor
- Sr. Georgette Ngom – Senegal, residing in Rome: General Councilor, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary
Councilor
- Sr. Mary Elizabeth Imler – United States: General Minister, Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart
Councilor
- Sr. Rute Almeida Guimarães – Brazil: General Minister, Franciscan Sisters of the Providence of God
