Free Reflections on Safeguarding during Lent

Free Reflections on Safeguarding during Lent

The Institute of Anthropology of the Pontifical Gregorian University has always emphasized the importance of promoting reflection on safeguarding, including within liturgical life. In every parish and community of the faithful, the suffering of vulnerable persons should be placed at the center of prayer. At the same time, we are called to strengthen our sensitivity, so as to be ready to welcome God’s grace and joy and to support those engaged in safeguarding.

In line with this commitment, the Institute invites everyone to join during this Lenten season so that, together, through prayer and reflection, we may put into practice the invitation proclaimed by the Word of God: to place the most vulnerable at the center not only of our prayers, but also of our evangelizing mission.

During the Gospel readings throughout Lent, the faithful will be invited to reflect on safeguarding, promoting safe relationships, spaces, and structures within the Church and in daily life. These reflections will bring together theological, psychological, and personal perspectives, underlining that protection is not separate from faith, but an integral part of it.

The content will be available in four languages: English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
