The power of encounter: diverse voices, one vision
The power of encounter: diverse voices, one vision
From May 26 to June 2, 2024, UISG held the Second Symposium of Women Religious Theologians in Nemi (Rome, Italy).
Designed as a platform for women religious theologians, the symposium aimed to nurture theological reflection on religious life by making it contextual and practical.
We asked some participants to share a personal reflection on the symposium through both video and written interviews.
Below, we present the one by Sister Emma Comino, from the the Institute of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
"In this era where the world is full of divisions, wars and walls, our witness - of being able to live together on a universal level - becomes very powerful. And that is what we experienced during these days, 29 sisters, 29 different congregations, meeting in presence for the first time.
In a short time, we have experienced in the common search, a communion that could not happen by ourselves.
What I hope and wish for us is that it may continue to grow, this communion between us, for the good of the Church, of the mission, to be ever more at the service of God and to prepare ourselves to be so in a serious, competent and passionate way."
