Self-care and Vulnerability
On mornings of Februrary 10th and Februrary 20th, the online course "Self-care and Vulnerability" took place. The meetings were dedicated especially to the formators, but open also to other people interested in the topic.
The reflection was led by Dr Maryanne Loughry, RSM - a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG) and a psychologist. At Boston College, Maryanne teaches courses on psychosocial responses to humanitarian crises migration and global policy. She worked also at Jesuit Refugee Service, where she has advised on staff well-being. Presently, she is the chair of the JRS advisory committee on mental health and psycho social support (MHPSS).
The first session of the course explores best practice in self-care.
During the second session, the topics discussed were the benefits and costs of encountering personal vulnerability as well as vulnerability in others.
