Diploma in Ignatian Spirituality: English Program 2024-25
Studies offered by the Pontifican Gregorian University
After successfully completing 12 required courses and three seminars—while also participating in supervised experiences for spiritual accompaniment, vocational discernment, and teamwork—students can receive a Diploma in Ignatian Spirituality.
In two semesters, students can complete all the requirements for a Diploma in Ignatian Spirituality, the equivalent of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).

- Ignatian Spirituality
- History of the Society of Jesus: From the Origin to the Suppression
- Ignatius of Loyola: Person, Mysticism and Spirituality
- Apostolic Spirituality of the Constitutions
- Ignatian Mystical Tradition and Jesuit Mysticism
- St. Ignatius and Women: Yesterday and Today
- Autobiography of Ignatius and the Rules for Discernment
- The History and Spirituality of the First Jesuit Missionaries in Asia
- Ignatian Spirituality and Jesuit Missions
- Ignatian Discernment of Spirits
Seminar Selection:
- Ignatian Sources
- Refounding Heroic Leadership. A Challenge for Ignatian Spirituality
- Discernment: the Key to Finding the Will of God
- Prayer in the Christian Tradition and Specificity of the Ignatian Tradition
- Ignatius of Loyola in the Holy Land. This will be a residential course in Jerusalem, from 5 to 16 July 2025, and will include visits to the holy sites in Galilee and to the Ignatian places in Jerusalem
As a final examination, students prepare a synthesis essay of 30 pages under the direction of a faculty member.
