December 8, 2025 — The UISG marks 60 years. Sixty years of a shared journey, not as a celebration of the past alone, but as a confirmation of a service that continues to grow, listen, and accompany women religious throughout the world. Today, the International Union of Superiors General is a global network bringing together 1903 Superiors General from every continent, united by the desire to live the Gospel in communion and mission.

At this moment in history, the UISG is a space of relationship, formation and communal discernment, where Congregational leaders can reflect together on the current challenges facing the Church and society: mission in complex contexts, care for creation, justice, peace, migration, and cultural and ecclesial transformation. The goal is simple and profound: to walk together as consecrated women, responsible for Religious Institutes, seeking new ways to proclaim hope.

Through meetings, webinars, formation programs, international projects and collaborative networks, the UISG offers spaces and tools to support leadership, strengthen inter-congregational relationships, and highlight the richness of charisms. Each Superior finds here a place to share experiences, receive inspiration, draw on resources and contribute her own insights to mutual growth.

Sixty years after its foundation, the UISG remains a vibrant platform, capable of fostering dialogue among different cultures, languages and sensibilities. Not just an organization, but a global community of sisters who encourage one another, who learn together, and who seek new ways of being a prophetic presence in the Church and in the world.

To celebrate this anniversary is to recognize what the Spirit continues to bring forth: a network that sustains, a communion that expands, and a feminine voice that speaks with courage and gentleness. At the heart of our time, the UISG stands as a place of hope where Superiors General can find listening, resources, relationships, and a shared path.
