On 30 November 2026, the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) and the Union of Superiors General (USG) will host an online meeting entitled Mission Sustainability Journey: From Reflection to Future Action, marking the conclusion of the first cycle of reflection and dialogue dedicated to mission sustainability.

Launched in 2024, this journey has brought together congregational leaders, treasurers, mission development offices, and ecclesial and funding partners through an initial survey and three workshops held between December 2025 and September 2026.

The meetings have highlighted that mission sustainability goes beyond fundraising. It requires an integrated approach encompassing leadership, congregational governance, apostolic planning, responsible stewardship of resources, and collaboration among congregations and ecclesial networks.

The meeting on 30 November will provide an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and identify possible future directions together. A synthesis report presenting the main insights and lessons learned will be shared, followed by a time for exchange, dialogue and discernment on the next steps.

Particular attention will be given to opportunities to strengthen collaboration among congregations, build on regional and national networks, develop organisational capacities, and promote joint initiatives in support of the mission.

The meeting is open to everyone who has participated in previous stages of the journey, as well as congregational leaders, treasurers, mission development offices, and ecclesial partners interested in contributing to the discussion.

Participation is free of charge and exclusively online, with prior registration required. Registered participants will receive joining instructions and the synthesis report in advance.

This gathering offers an opportunity to build on what has been achieved together and discern new forms of collaboration, enabling congregations to continue responding creatively and responsibly to the challenges of our time.
