Voices from the Plenary 2025: "To Be Bearers of Hope for Our People"
At the conclusion of the 2025 UISG Plenary Assembly, we gather in this section the testimonies and reflections of several Superiors General on the key themes that animated our days of listening, discernment, and communion.
Through these weekly interviews, we wish to open a space of listening and communion, where the experience of those who, from diverse contexts, walk the synodal path in service of the Gospel and consecrated life in today’s world can truly resonate.
This week we share the words of Sr. Theresia Supriyati, Superior General of the Sisters of Jesus Mary Joseph, as she reflects on the importance of collaboration and being bearers of hope for their people.
"I am Sister Teresia Supriyati,
belonging to the congregation of the Sisters of Jesus Mary Joseph in Indonesia.
Indeed, it is the first time that we came together as Indonesian congregations coming to this plenary.
We are 21 sisters, Superior Generals.
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the UISG for their support and encouragement, that we, the 21 Superior Generals, could come to Rome for the first time.
It is really a grace for us, and all of us are so excited for that.
The programs they offer are truly touching us deeply.
Today's sharing from the three sisters really moved me and encouraged me.
I am sure that, with their example, we will be able to collaborate with one another as Indonesian sisters, and we can reflect together on how we can be a bearer of hope for our people".
