Allow mistakes to happen. This, too, can be the main take-away from the UISG Programme for the Preparation of Formators. Sr. Harriet Kabaije of Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa explains what exactly she means: 

“Allow myself to make mistakes. Let others make mistakes and that makes a big difference to be human. I find it is a big invitation for me to live for the rest of my life and pass it on to others.”

Thanks to the program, Sr. Harriet realized she wants to totally commit herself, using God-given talents, time, and “who I am as a consecrated religious missionary sister. I find it is a big gift from the program”.

Moreover, she considers herself to be formed now so that she could form others, which is the purpose of the training itself.

What is more, the religious from Uganda mentions she has experienced a certain healing in her personal life throughout the past few months at the UISG in Rome. Sr. Harriet sees it as a valuable gift:

“Getting healed in my inner life is something more and does good in my personal life. As I live here, I know I have received a lot, not only intellectually speaking, but also at the level of my own inner feelings. I am really thankful to God, to the UISG, members and teachers.”

Programme for the Preparation of Formators runs from January 13 to July 4, 2025. It is in English and takes place on-site at the UISG seat in Rome.

The programme offers various ways to help the participant integrate the content of the programme including personal reflection, group work and interaction, and mentoring. Each participant assumes the responsibility for her own human and spiritual growth and commits herself to active and engaged participation.
