Hopes and Tensions of the Document for the Synodal Journey
Hopes and Tensions of the Document for the Synodal Journey
Becoming a Synodal Church so that all can feel at home
On 2 November, an online and presential meeting was held to reflect on the Document for the Continental Phase of the Synodal Path.
Among the speakers were:
- Sr. Nathalie Becquart, xmcj, Under-Secretary of the General Secretariat of the Synod
- Father Giacomo Costa, sj, Consultor of the General Secretariat of the Synod and Member of the national coordination group of the Synodal Path
- Sr. Nadia Coppa, asc, President of the UISG and Superior General of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ
- Sr. Dolores Lahr, csj, Member of the Executive Council of the UISG - Superior General of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry
The conclusions of the meeting were presented by Sr. Patricia Murray, Executive Secretary of the UISG.
More than 330 religious men and women participated.
From the document emerges a great desire to walk together as Church, sharing the joys and naming, with honesty, the labours and wounds that are present in our structures and communities.
The common belonging to the People of God of all the baptised is highlighted, and the importance of putting the Word of God at the centre for listening deeply to the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for all the work in putting this document together. It had to be a monumental task. It has definitely planted seeds that I pray will fall on good soil in our hearts so we can become the church God desires us to be.
