Father Lazar Aslam OFM Cap
To whom it may concern Subject: Proposal for Collaboration in Support of Immigrants, Refugees, and Persecuted Minorities in Pakistan Greetings of peace and joy, I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Father Lazar Aslam, a Franciscan Capuchin friar, author, and human rights activist based in Lahore, Pakistan. I am deeply committed to advocating for the rights of marginalized and persecuted communities in Pakistan, regardless of religion, caste, or ethnicity. My mission includes addressing discrimination, providing support to immigrants and refugees, and promoting peaceful coexistence through justice and interfaith dialogue. In this spirit, I am reaching out to explore the possibility of partnering with JRS in your noble mission. I hold in high esteem the vital work JRS is doing globally, and I believe that by collaborating, we can extend hope and concrete assistance to communities facing acute persecution and displacement in Pakistan. Through my work, I have been involved in several sensitive cases and advocacy initiatives. My efforts have been recognized internationally and featured in various media outlets, including: + https://setemargens.com/a-europa-pode-contribuir-para-o-avanco-dos-direitos-humanos-no-paquistao/ + https://acn-canada.org/pakistan-christian-girls-continue-to-suffer-from-abuse-and-discrimination/ + https://acninternational.org/pakistan-christian-girls-continue-to-suffer-from-abuse-and-discrimination/ + https://acn-canada.org/young-christian-brutally-attacked-in-pakistan/ I have also authored a book titled "Building Bridges", which narrates the struggle of immigrants and refugees and offers a perspective rooted in faith, justice, and reconciliation. If there is an opportunity, I would be honored to collaborate with JRS in any capacity — whether through writing, reporting, advocacy, or on-the-ground support. I am also happy to share my portfolio of reports, articles, and documentation of human rights violations upon request. Above all, I humbly ask for your prayers for the Christian community in Pakistan, as well as for the friars and human rights defenders working in difficult conditions. Your spiritual solidarity is a source of strength for us. Be assured of our prayers for your mission as well. Thank you for your time and consideration. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you and hope to explore ways we might walk together in the service of God's people. With deep respect and sincere regards, Fr.
