Sr. Teresa Joseph, FMA appointed Catholic representative at the Commission for World Mission and Evangelization

 

Sr. Teresa Joseph, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians of the St. Mary Mazzarello Province (INB) was appointed Catholic representative to the Commission for World Mission and Evangelization (CWME) of the World Council of Churches (WCC).

 

Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity (DPCU), on 29 May 2023, sent the Letter of appointment to Sr. Teresa:

Upon the recommendation of the Executive Secretary of the International Union of Superiors General, I am pleased to appoint you as Catholic representative to the Commission on World Mission and Evangelization (CWME) of the World Council of Churches (WCC) for the period 2023-2030. […]

 

Grateful to the Executive Secretary of the International Union of Superiors General for appointing you, and to you for accepting this appointment, I ask God’s blessing for this task and for your other ministries and responsibilities.”

 

Sr. Teresa Joseph obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences with a specialization in Catechetics at the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences “Auxilium” in Rome and a Doctorate in Missiology with a specialization in Interreligious Studies at the Gregorian University in Rome. She has developed a rich academic activity and was a member of the editorial board of the Indian national catechetical directory. She is currently a Community Animator at the Auxilium Welfare Center in Koregaon Park, Pune; Provincial Coordinator for Evangelization, the ad / intra gentes mission and catechesis; and a core member of the Salesian / Diocesan Catechetical Center in Koregaon Park, Pune.
