Pray with the Pope: For Respect for Human Life
Pray with the Pope: For Respect for Human Life
Pope Leo XIV dedicates his prayer intention for the month of July to the sacred gift of human life:
"Human life is a sacred gift that deserves to be welcomed, protected, and cherished at every stage. Yet, in many parts of the world, situations of indifference, exclusion, and violence continue to threaten the dignity of people, especially those who are most vulnerable. When respect for life is weakened, the culture of waste and exclusion also grows, leaving many without the care, accompaniment, and recognition they need.
In his prayer intention for this month, Pope Leo invites us to pray that the unique and unrepeatable value of every human being may be recognized, and that our societies may learn to safeguard life with love, tenderness, and responsibility.
You are not alone: by praying, you join millions of people in the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network who, from every corner of the world, pray for the challenges facing humanity and the mission of the Church".
Let us pray together:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord of Life,
You created us out of love and called us to live life in its fullness.
Every person is a sacred gift reflecting Your face,
from the very first moment of existence
until the final breath of life on earth.
Today we ask You for the grace to recognize and cherish
the unique and unrepeatable value of every human being.
Teach us to welcome life without conditions,
to support with tenderness those who are fragile,
to accompany every stage of life with respect,
and to courageously defend those who have no voice.
Forgive us, Lord,
when we fall into indifference or embrace the culture of exclusion,
when we fail to see in others persons worthy of love.
Grant us a new heart, always ready to choose life,
and generous hands that protect it through concrete acts of compassion.
Make Your Church a living witness to the Gospel of Life,
an open home where every life is celebrated,
where no one feels unwanted,
and where the dignity of every person is always respected and safeguarded.
Lord Jesus,
may we love life as You love it:
with tenderness, faithfulness, and self-giving.
May our words and actions proclaim
that every human life is worthy of the complete gift of ourselves.
Amen.
