On 29 September 2026, the third workshop in the UISG–USG joint journey on the sustainability of mission will take place at the UISG headquarters in Rome. Entitled Stewarding Mission for the Future: Readiness, Collaboration and New Possibilities beyond grants, the workshop continues a shared process of reflection on how religious congregations can strengthen the long-term sustainability of their mission.
Building on the previous workshops held on 9 December 2025 and 10 April 2026, this meeting will further explore an increasingly shared conviction: the sustainability of mission extends far beyond fundraising. It requires an integrated vision that embraces leadership, governance, collaboration, and responsible stewardship of resources.
The workshop will provide an opportunity to reflect on emerging developments within the ecclesial and philanthropic landscape, examining topics such as impact investing, blended finance, zero-interest loans, and the strategic use of congregational assets. These themes will be approached critically and realistically, with the aim of helping congregations discern the organizational readiness, governance structures, and competencies needed to strengthen their mission in a sustainable way.
The workshop is intended for Superiors General, General Councillors, General Treasurers/Economes, Bursars, administrative and financial officers, directors and staff of Mission and Development Offices, as well as religious and lay collaborators engaged in apostolic planning and the stewardship of resources.
Participation will be available both in person and online. Attendance at the Regina Mundi Hall is limited to 60 participants, with a maximum of two representatives per congregation. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
