To: Superiors General, Delegates to the Assembly of the Union From: Sister Therezinha Joana Rasera, SDS, President of the UISG Subject: Assembly of the Union
Dear Delegates,
It gives me great pleasure to convoke today the next Assembly of the Union, which will be held following the Plenary, at the headquarters of the Union, Piazza di Ponte S. Angelo 28, Rome, from May 11-13, 2007. The theme of the Assembly is the same as that of the Plenary:
Challenged to weave a new spirituality which generates hope and life for all
The main work of the Assembly consists in: Studying and reflecting on the content of the Reports Responding to the recommendations that surface from the Plenary Deliberating and voting on the proposals for change of a few articles in the Statutes Elect the members of the Executive Committee for the period of 2007-2010.
Thinking ahead to my report for the Union, I would be grateful if you would respond to the enclosed Questionnaire on the Life of the Constellation, and return it to the Secretariat before December 1st, 2006. As you will notice, the questions refer uniquely to the period included between the Assembly in Warsaw (November 2005) and the present time.
In my letter announcing the theme of the Plenary (6-10 May) I explained that when choosing the theme, one of the passages of the Gospel that enlightened the Executive Committee was that of The Vine and the Branches (Jn 15). The image of the Vine spoke to us of weaving and of spirituality, but it is possible that another passage would speak to you also. Thus I invite you to reflect on the text that you choose, linking it to the theme and its five challenges. We would like the 2007 Assembly of the Union to be an experience that impels us to live our commitment with a renewed enthusiasm that will generate hope and life for all. With affection and gratitude, Sister Therezinha Rasera, SDS President |
