Sr. M. Victoria Gz. de Castejón, RSCJ - The Victoria Gz de Castejón, affectionately called Toya, is a Religious of the Sacred Heart, born in Vitoria (Spain). As a young religious she taught in a secondary school. After final profession she began her missionary life, a life that led her to many different countries and cultures, from Europe to Africa, to Latin and North America and to Asia. Her main work has been in the area of formation, retreat work, and facilitation of Chapters, Assemblies and workshops. Toya is a woman of relationships! She values collaboration, communication and staying connected with all of life. Given her gifts, it is not surprising that she enjoys doing simultaneous translation. In September 2003 she accepted the position as General Secretary of UISG. This year she also works in close collaboration with USG in preparation for the November 2004 Congress on Consecrated Life. |

“Working at UISG is a window of opportunity to learn more about religious life, its concerns and the challenges of its mission. I see it as a platform to stand in solidarity and to ‘strengthen bonds of communion’ with women religious because it is through them that I live out my mission of manifesting God’s love ‘ad gentes’.” |
