Sr. Christine Lorcy, FJ, superior general of  the Daughters of Jesus of  Kermaria,  continued the reflections on the five threads  necessary for a new spirituality.  She presented a reflection on “Immigrants and Displaced Persons,” giving voice to peoples who find themselves displaced in their own countries and continents.  Migration, she underlined, is a phenomenon that has always existed but today “this question has become crucial because of the amplitude of the migratory influx that does not stop growing.” The challenge she left the participants of the plenary was how the congregations can understand and respond to the needs of those displaced and marginalized migrants.

The fifth thread woven was, “The Laity Strand” presented by Sr. Katrina Brill, RSJ, superior general of the Sisters of St. Joseph.   Her paper was based on the experiences of the congregation in the context of Australia/New Zealand and the challenges and opportunities faced by the congregation in sharing its charisms to various lay groups.

In the afternoon, the participants went to their interest groups—Woman, Earth and Its Sacredness, Inter Religious Dialogue , Immigrants and Displaced Persons and the Laity--  to continue their reflection bearing in mind the news spirituality that generates hope and life for all.

The concluding prayer of the day were in interest groups.

Ti rendiamo grazie, O Dio per la tua gloria.
